The Current State of Play in Biofuels Markets in Sub-Saharan Africa

The number of Sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries with nationally determined contributions (NDCs) towards greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction is steadily growing. GHG emissions in Africa were 1,144mn mt in 2020 according to data by the International Energy Agency (IEA), and Sub-Saharan Africa GHG emissions were 695mn mt – just 2.2% of global emissions.
