CITAC at the ARDA Storage, Distribution & Jet Fuel Forum 2025

CITAC was pleased to take part in the ARDA Storage, Distribution & Jet Fuel Forum, held in Dakar, Senegal. The event brought together senior leaders, operators, and stakeholders from across Africa’s downstream sector to discuss infrastructure, logistics, and energy security.

CITAC was represented by two members of our team, contributing to sessions that addressed some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities for Africa’s petroleum supply chains.

Richard Augood participated to the session “Efficient, World-Class Port Infrastructure – Africa’s Gateway to Energy Security”.

This session explored how African ports can strengthen their role as critical gateways for energy security, highlighting investment priorities, operational excellence, and cross-border collaboration.

Then, James McCullagh moderated the session “Ensuring Best-in-Class, Future-Proof Pipeline and Rail Investments for the Transportation of Petroleum Products to Meet Africa’s Growing Demand”.

The session addressed strategies for securing long-term, resilient investments in pipelines and rail networks, ensuring that petroleum products can be transported efficiently to meet the continent’s growing demand.

Finally, James McCullagh moderated the session “Emplacing a Pan-African Market to Meet the Continent’s Growing Bitumen Demand” on Thursday 19 September.

This session examined how to create and strengthen a pan-African market capable of meeting the continent’s increasing demand for bitumen, a critical input for infrastructure development.
