Oil product storage in Sub-Saharan Africa: Evolution and outlook
Sub-Saharan Africa’s oil product storage landscape is highly diverse, with both state and private players as well as ageing and state of the art facilities. While different countries have moved at different speeds, certain trends can be observed across the continent such as consolidation of small depots, the establishment of strategic security stocks depots, and catering for demand evolution – notably to LPG. Investment across the sector has been robust and opportunities continue to be identified by local and international players to the benefit of African consumers.
This CITAC Industry Insight aims to highlight the key trends playing out in the sector and their outlooks. CITAC Industry Insight is published in CITAC’s Sub-Saharan Africa Oil Market Report April 2021.
