CITAC’s Participation in SIREXE 2024

James McCullagh, Executive Director of CITAC, had the honour of moderating a panel session at the inaugural SIREXE conference in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The session, titled “The Future with Cleaner Fuels: AFRI 6 Standard Fuel, LPG Integration, Biofuels (Biodiesel, Bioethanol), SAF, Hydrogen, and Other Sustainable Fuels,” focused on the critical role of cleaner and more sustainable fuels in shaping Africa’s energy future.
The panel featured insightful contributions from key industry leaders, including:
- M. Tiotioho Soro, Directeur Général, Société Ivoirienne de Raffinage (SIR)
- M. Anibor Kragha, Executive Secretary, African Refiners & Distributors Association (ARDA)
- M. François Lechat, Managing Director, Scania West Africa
- M. Krombo, Managing Director, LONO
Discussions during the session highlighted the importance of transitioning to cleaner fuels across the continent to meet future energy demands while ensuring sustainability and economic growth.
